I've just made my first gift cards...

and love them!

Just made these out of some scraps of card and Papermania Naughty and Nice Christmas paper I had for my childminder's kids to put a phone top up receipt in for each of them for Christmas. Was trying to find a nice way to present a piece of paper! The sentiment, was printed out on the PC and cut with a small scalloped circle nestability in the cuttlebug. They are plain and simple, but I think they are quite elegant too. Inside I have made a pocket to hold the top up receipt.

Another crafty morning spent...

Finishing off the post-it holders I had made the other day. Here is picture of the finished post-it holders, complete with post-its and small pencils, which my very kind OH has chopped down from full sized pencil because I just couldn't find any small enough to fit the holders:

Really pleased with the end result, although I found them very time consuming to do, with all the cutting out of the various sizes of card and paper used. Hope the teachers/assistants like them.

Followed by making 8 Pots of Gold...

for my kids teachers and teaching assistants. I have 8 to make presents for this year, so each will be getting one of these, snowman soup and post-it holders.

They did start off this morning looking like this:

but now look like this:
having been wrapped in gold cellophane with ribbon attached. I also made the tags to go with them using my new labels 4 nestablities and printing the verse onto photo paper which I then covered in the same gold cellophane I have used to wrap them. I think they look really good!
The verse I used was:

Here's a pot of gold
A festive nibble too
I hope that it will make
All your dreams come true.
Have a Merrry Christmas
From me to you
Now all I need to make up is the snowman soup, and the the teachers presents are done.

More easel cards...

But this time they are birthday ones. I did these 2 quickly on Friday:

I've used the same image on both, and have co-ordinated the colours to match the image. On the purple one I have cut the image and surrounding card with my new deckled rectangle nestabilities and back it on cream run through the 'bug' with swiss dots. The bottom is some purple card that has also been 'swiss dotted' wth a piece of ribbon and peel off. A purple flower hold the card in place.
For the green one, I have done exactly the same as above, but for the bottom I have used the Happy Birthday embossing folder, and held the card into place with a black flower gem.
I'm entering both of these into this week's Project Tuesday easel card challenge, as I couldn't decide which one I liked best!

Post-it holders for teachers presents

Over the last couple of days I have sat down and made these for my son's teachers for Christmas. Eventually I will be adding the pencil inside to finish them off, and will be putting them in a bag with snowman soup and pots of gold.

Thanks to Flourgirl over on MSE for posting the link to make these. I have found these relatatively simple to make, and have managed to use up some card, papers, organza ribbon that I didn't think I every would. Really please with how they have come out and hope the teachers like them too.

Sweet jars for my son's christmas fair

Whenever the Christmas School fairs come around, we are asked to make sweet jars. So on Thursday night I made these, but I am so rubbish at coming up with anything half decent, I have cheated this year and just wrapped a slither of wrapping paper around each jar. Making these up is great as it uses up the sweets around the house that my kids have been given but don't particular like, therefore they are very MSE to do!
